Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Washing Soda
  • 1/2 Cup Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Cup Citric Acid
  • 1/4 Cup Fine Sea Salt
  • 10-15 Drops Essential Oil (Optional, e.g., Lemon or Tea Tree)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine 1 cup washing soda, 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup citric acid, and 1/4 cup fine sea salt.
  • Whisk thoroughly to ensure even distribution and break up any clumps. The mixture should be a fine, free-flowing powder.
  • If using essential oil, add 10-15 drops and mix well to distribute the scent evenly. Avoid over-adding to prevent residue.
  • Transfer the mixture to an airtight container, such as a mason jar, for storage or gifting. Label with usage instructions (see below).
  • Store in a cool, dry place to prevent clumping.
Usage:
  • Use 1 tablespoon per dishwasher load, placed in the detergent compartment.
  • For best results, add 1/4 cup white vinegar to the rinse aid compartment to enhance shine and prevent spotting.
  • Run the dishwasher on a normal or heavy cycle, ensuring a full rinse cycle.
